I want to get my wife and daughter a music download subscription as a Christmas gift... any ideas on what sites are good...

I want to do the "monthly fee" rather than the "per song"

the spoiled kid is getting an Ipod from her Aunt...

Thanks

Music noob

I'm afraid there's nothing worth besides itunes. Its on-line shop is seamlessly integrated with iPod software.

LOL... it's mainly for my kid and I don't want her stealing music at 10 years old... I also want her to use a safe place... no porn :boobies: and no viruses and the like

Viruses and trojans are always a big concern with P2P networks. I just finished cleaning up gf's computer from this crap. It's impossible to explain to many people that files with .exe extension are not music files! And if you see pennis enlargement pills page as a start page in IE, it does not meant that somebody played a trick with you. :bsod:
That's why I buy music CD's in Russia for $1 or less for a disk.

Yup, I downloaded a lot of cracked programs on Limewire, all I got were trojans. I can recall a lot of times where I kept trying to double-click setup.exe but it wouldn't open!!. :smashfreak:

I just use it for music until the trial ends for one of my programs.

Ever hear of "seed till you bleed". If you got to do it illegally torrents are way better.

torrents are good but full CD ISOs and bin/cue files are better.....you can always use winimage to see if any of the files were modifies after the release date of the software or music

i saw some comercials on "Rhapsody". It seems like a pretty safe monthly pay site for music if you don't feel like hacking it up all the time for you kids

Rhapsody is for listening to music. If you download the songs they make you pay. I know this, because I took advantage of their "free" trial, and downloaded some songs put them onto a cd, and got the bill. Rhapsody lets you listen to the music, and search for it and hear what you want, with radio and stuff, but you can NOT put it onto your harddrive or cd for free. Atleast, this is what it was like when i signed up for it.
