This is 100% legal and gives you the ability to see only 2 skins which is pretty useful.

Note: You must have the retail version of Unreal Tournament 2004 installed to do this. DEFAULT SKIN FORCING DOES NOT WORK FOR THE DEMO VERSION OF UT2004 - AND NO IT'S NOT CHEATING!!!

First off, I would suggest you update to patch v3355 (even though you should be using that patch anyway).

Use Ctrl+F to find a specific column instead of searching through the whole file.

Code: Select all

Make the following changes to User.ini:
[UnrealGame.UnrealPawn]
PlacedCharacterName=Gorge

[XGame.xPawn]
PlacedCharacterName=Gorge
PlacedFemaleCharacterName=Rylisa

*If these sections don't exist just copy paste all of the above.

Make the following changes to UT2004.ini:
[UnrealGame.DeathMatch]
bForceDefaultCharacter=True
bColoredDMSkins=True
bAllowPlayerLights=True

Add this section in the UT2004.ini:

[UnrealGame.DMMutator]
bBrightSkins=True
You must be either using the skin Gorge or Rylisa for this to work.

I used to force Gorge a while back when Rookie used to do it. I'll probably never do it again unless my shot is completely off. I feel slower with Gorge for some reason, and easier to hit, even though I know the hitboxes are the same size and they all move at the same pace.
